Privacy Policy
Last updated:
You can play without an account. This policy explains what stays in your browser, what we save to run the game, and the choices you have.
This policy covers Fig & Verse at figandverse.com.
Game progress and browser storage
Your browser stores game progress, unfinished puzzles, sound and motion settings, language preferences, and cookie choices. Clearing browser data can remove these saves and sign you out.
Guest progress stays in your browser. The game sends requests to our server to load puzzles, check answers, and read passages, whether or not you are signed in. Signing in lets us save completed daily rounds, scores, learning progress, unlocked books, and unfinished daily and practice rounds with your account so you can continue across devices. Saved rounds include question identifiers, selected answers, and your place in the game. Sound, motion, language preferences, and cookie choices stay on your device.
Scores, stars, and streaks are personal records, not a public leaderboard. Essential browser storage supports saves, preferences, sign-in, and security. It is separate from any optional analytics choice.
Accounts
If you create an account, Firebase Authentication, provided by Google, processes your email address, account identifier, credentials, and sign-in information. Our game server does not receive your password or access to your email inbox or browsing history.
Our game records contain your account identifier and saved progress. We do not copy your name or email into those progress records. Sign-in information may also remain in your browser so you can stay signed in.
Signing out returns you to guest play and keeps account progress separate from guest progress. Signing out or clearing browser data does not delete your Firebase account or progress already saved on our server.
Sharing verse cards
Verse cards are generated on your device. Choosing Share or Save asks your browser or device to share or download the image; it does not automatically publish to a social network. The app you choose handles the shared image under its own terms and privacy policy.
Analytics and cookie choices
We use Google Analytics to understand visits and use of the game. It processes analytics cookies, browser and device information, and network request information. We do not send your email, account identifier, answers, Scripture text, scores, or payment details to Analytics, or use it for personalized advertising.
In the EU/EEA, UK, Switzerland, and when your region cannot be determined, Analytics stays off until you choose Accept analytics. Elsewhere it may load unless you decline. Only essential keeps analytics off without limiting play or sign-in. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control also keep it off.
Use Cookie settings in the footer or game settings to change your choice. Choices are remembered on this browser for 180 days. Withdrawing stops future collection and clears this integration’s analytics cookies; it does not delete information already received by Google. Query strings, URL fragments, and page referrers are excluded from our page measurements.
We do not currently show third-party ads. We will update this policy and the relevant choices before introducing them. Advertising requires its own appropriate consent controls; accepting analytics does not grant advertising consent.
Service providers and security
We use trusted providers to deliver and protect Fig & Verse. These include Google for Firebase Authentication and analytics and Cloudflare for hosting, private content storage, account progress, and protection against automated abuse.
When browser verification is enabled, we use Cloudflare Turnstile to check for automated abuse. Cloudflare processes technical browser and network information for that check. A successful check sets an essential, signed browser-session cookie for six hours. This cookie is separate from your account and does not change your saved progress.
Requests may include technical information such as IP addresses, browser details, requested pages, and request times. Providers may process this information and store records outside your country under the safeguards described in their policies and applicable agreements. Access controls and request limits help protect the service, but no online service can promise absolute security.
We use information to provide the game, maintain account progress, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. Where data protection law requires a legal basis, these purposes rely on providing the service you request, our legitimate interests in operating and protecting it, legal obligations, and consent for optional tracking where required.
We do not sell your personal information, use your learning history for targeted advertising, or ask you to disclose your religious beliefs. We do not use learning results to make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on you.
We may disclose information where necessary to comply with a valid legal obligation or protect the service, players, or others from fraud, abuse, or security threats. Such disclosures are limited to the information needed for that purpose.
Retention and deletion
Browser saves remain until you or your browser remove them. We do not automatically delete accounts or saved progress after a period of inactivity; they remain until removed. Signing out or stopping play does not delete those records.
Clearing local data does not delete your account or server records, and removing server records does not clear browser copies on other devices. Account deletion cannot currently be completed in the game.
Providers retain operational logs and backups under their configured retention settings, policies, and legal obligations. Records may be retained where necessary for security, disputes, or legal requirements; a deletion request does not necessarily remove information immediately from every backup.
Your rights and requests
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your information, restrict its use, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw that consent without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing. Cookie settings controls any optional analytics choice.
We may need to verify account ownership before acting on a request. Rights are subject to applicable law and limited exceptions. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children’s information
Fig & Verse is intended for people aged 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that an account or other personal information belongs to a child under 13, we will take appropriate steps to remove that information and close the account.
If you are under the age of majority where you live, use the game with a parent or guardian’s permission. Where local law requires parental authorization for processing an older child’s information, that authorization is also required. Parents, teachers, and group leaders should not create accounts for children under 13 or submit their personal information through the game.
Changes to this policy
We will update the date above when this policy changes. For material changes, we will provide an appropriate notice and request a new choice where required, rather than treating continued play as consent to optional tracking.
